Last week, I decided to try and promote the new songThe Dawn Of DuskonLast.fm. This was the first time I was trying this so I started off with a small campaign of $20 for 100 plays to listeners that scrobble similar style of music. And based on my rule of thumb 1% of one percent, this campaign was a big success. Out of the 100 plays, 30 listeners skipped the song entirely (so they didn't even hear it), and 70 listeners had listened to the entire song and out of those listeners, had also added the song to their library. Now here is the best part of this whole campaign,......three of these listeners actually tagged the song as a 'Loved' song on their playlist! So basically, this surpassed my odds by a huge margin! I will definitely do this again, and my gratitoodes for the Attitoode to all those that gave this song the Attitoode!
I also did a similar campaign onJango.coma week earlier than theLast.fmcampaign. This campaign was for 2000 plays at a cost of $60 in order to get my song played to listeners of similar music styles. Again, this campaign was a huge success, in my opinion! Out of these 2000 plays, 109 listeners became a fan ofSolitoode Attitoode, and four listeners added their email address to my contact list. The best part were the nice comments that some listeners took the time to write on the profile. Great Attitoode!
So I will definitely be back to do some more serious promoting once I have more funds to do so. In the meantime, if anyone would like to try and help as well, just go to my Reverbnation profile, sign up as a fan, and then grab some of the widgets that you can place around the internet. But if not, it is still the best thing in the world just to have you here regardless!

Free Downloads for our Fans! - February 21, 2010

It has finally happened! I have finally upgraded my account on Reverbnation to Mega-Storage. This means that I can upload better quality MP3's onto the site. AND, this is even better because now I can offer better-quality MP3's for fans to download and play on your MP3 players! It may not be iTune quality but it is 'pretty-good' quality. You will not have your ears being scratched from the inside out when you play these downloads. And by all means, pass these versions around to your friends and kittens for their listening pleasure.
'Tinker Lane' is not available for download yet. It is part of the Playlist 7 feature. It is going to be available soon at a better-than-iTune quality. I will let you know as soon as it happens. But once it is over, than it will be posted as well.
Just to prove that there is something happening in the world of Solitoode, I have uploaded another song for you to give some Attitoode. The new song is called Three Roses. This is a song that I did about a year ago. It still needs some editing and is quite lengthy. But in the meantime, we now have something new to listen to.

New Track - - - The Dawn Of Dusk - October 6, 2009
I have just uploaded a new track called "the Dawn Of Dusk' for all those that have been patiently waiting for me to finally post some new music. I figured I should let you hear something new from me so that you know that I have been working on new material. And at the rate I am going, it is going to be a while yet before I can finance a new album. So this will have to do for now in the meantime.
The new track can only be heard at Reverbnation so you have to join my mailing list in order to hear it. It is a very simple procedure. All you have to do is go to my profile there, click on the tab "become a fan", and enter your email address in the box provided and then you set up a password for yourself and you're done! Then you just have to click on the song and it should start playing!

I have made all the ringtones available for free. It just seems silly to be charging for this. And then you have to pay for your stupid phone charges too, unless your phone has this included. But still, they want more money for a ringtone than if you were to buy the WHOLE song! COME ON!!! Anyway, at this site I am able to give them away to you for free. Openpot and GimmieSound --- Music that is free and pays! - July 24, 2009
I do a lot of thinking about things and one of the things that I keep thinking about is that I don't really know how get people to listen to my music (and then like it) without having to spend a ton of money or somehow forcing you to listen to it. Of course I could just have all the songs be available for free to download but for some reason, people don't seem to appreciate and respect free things. But a couple of opportunities have come up that bridge this gap and allow you to download the songs for free AND creating some revenue for me for each download! It is not much, maybe 10 cents a download but still, better than a kick in the ass. I also have to mention that the quality of the download is pretty good (192kbps) but not as good as those premium music store sites (256kbps). And of course, the CD is the best quality version. So by downloading the songs at these two sites, you will be helping by supporting me with a little revenue (actually costs a lot of money to produce music, you know!) and also with my problem of trying to get you to listen (and like) my music. Hopefully you will be able to make a connection with the music!
So without further ado, here are the sites with a brief explanation of them:
Openpot
This site is actually from Germany (I think). It appears to be German language, although I got to sign up in English. The idea here is that you have to look at some advertising for 10 seconds before you get to download the song. It really is no big deal actually. Kind of fun trying to see if you can figure out any of the words in the ads. And since I have been trying to learn how to speak Japanese in German, this may really be helpful! I get paid in EURO's too! Yesssss!!
This site is English,...American to be honest! Same thing here about the advertising except that you don't have to wait. The ads are just there! So it is about sharing the advertising revenue with all the artists that have had songs downloaded. So if I happened to be the only artist that got any songs downloaded, I would get half of the net advertising revenue and the site gets the other half, otherwise the half gets divided up by the number of downloads. The nice thing about this site is that 2% of the revenue goes to a charity of your choice! And if you don't pick one, then I picked ASPCA, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. And from whichever site you choose (or any other revenues I get with my music) I will be donating 10% (hopefully more) to other SPCA services throughout wherever needed.
I will try this out for now and see how it works. Hopefully it will be good and that I can keep it going. But at the same time, if the sites do not seem to be pulling their own weight, then I will have to leave. So in the meantime, take advantage of this and hopefully you will pass this on to your friends and family!

Exclusive and Free! - June 27, 2009
For the first time, and for a limited time, the song Insatiable is now available as an exclusive download for free. It is only available at this one location too! And the funny part about it is that I still get paid too!!! It is part of a promotion that I agreed to do by allowing a song to be downloaded for free that has never been free before. It is also a high quality MP3 as well at 256kbps! Yup, not holding anything back with that! You may also find it rather interesting who is behind all this promotion and why they are doing this. There are thousands of songs that they are sponsoring for you to download for free! Yeah, unfortunately it is not just me. But nevertheless, still a great opportunity for me! This song has been very popular and now it is available for free,...but for a limited time.

Perhaps it has been some time since the album was released (over a year now!) and it is getting a review now. But I have made many mistakes in releasing this album. Most of them from not knowing any better about how the industry works. In the end, it has been a great success with the acknowledgement I have been getting from it. Criticism also and even some haters too! So the music has made an impact. It has been recognized by others in the industry to be marketable and that my production is of good quality. This is very pleasing to me since all the technology of producing had to be self-taught. And I have learned so much too, even since after the first album was released.
Currently, I am wrapping up the next album. I need to do some tweaking yet and then some polishing before it becomes finalized. I am also letting it all absorb into my thoughts as well. So that means I will probably have to listen to the songs another 1000 more times each. I was hoping to have had it all done by now and released but it isn't looking like it will be any time soon. It should be completed in the Fall. Still need to take care of the artwork for the cover. And there is always the issue of money and having enough to produce and promote the album,....properly! There are procedures, I have learned. But I am thinking about maybe just releasing a single or two while I patiently go about this. So stay tooned!

Finally! - March 15, 2009
So here it is! The new home for Solitoode Attitoode. After scraping up a few dollars to purchase the domain and then finding the time to do some work on it, the site is up and running. Actually, it has been up for a few days now but I skipped this part where I am telling you about it right now. I am still learning about web pages so hopefully I will be able to figure it out quickly and have it looking better very soon. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
So far, I have posted all the songs up and that is about it. The songs all work too! There are a bunch of links as to where Solitoode Attitoode can be found. I did a Google recently and there are a few places that I didn't even know about that have the Attitoode listed. I thought that was pretty cool! Soon I will post links to the radio stations that are playing the songs. They definitely deserve some Attitoode for being so daring to play the Attitoode.
